About that Meme

Animal advocacy is a funny ‘thing’ to be involved in.

The more vocal, or talk about issues, the more likely you are to become a target of those who want to maintain the status quo.

Though one thing you don’t expect is to be the target of those within the animal advocacy movement.

And that is exactly what has happened to me recently.

About That Kiss…

Holy smoke.

Did I underestimate things or what?

I forget that when you post something on social media that challenges the status quo you can’t expect rational discussion.

This is exactly what happened when I shared a meme.

Someone who wasn’t able to respond to the meme like an adult would, dug through the vegan police facebook page to find some other ammunition.

And find it they did.

Once they found it, they used that image to change the direction of the discussion.

And yes, my “support” for one nation over the Animal Justice Party also came out. Though I will be talking about that in a later piece (maybe tomorrow).

Dear candidates,

Please allow me to introduce myself.

I understand the complexities of animal rights.

I am also vegan.

This means, according to Facebook, my only option is to vote for you on July 2.

This is why I am writing this letter to you.

I feel there are a few questions need answering.

The Folly Of The Baby Steps Approach.

There is a claim among animal protection organisations that we can’t ask people go vegan. You know what? I am here to say that you can and you should be telling people to go vegan. And doing it every time you talk to them about who they eat and wear. Here’s why. Not Doing So … Read moreThe Folly Of The Baby Steps Approach.

Who would have thought that a seemingly innocent question asked during a doorstop interview with an agriculture minister about a local issue would result in overwhelming media attention, both locally and internationally.

Yet, this is exactly what happened when Australia’s Federal Minister for Agriculture, Barnaby Joyce, was asked for a comment on the breach of quarantine by Johnny Depp’s dogs, Boo and Pistol.
