About 2 months ago now, I got struck down by what has to be the worst case of man flu never recorded. There is a brief run down of it here.
When I came out on the other side of the illness, I made the decision that I would get serious about eating properly, and drastically improving my health and fitness.
I’m not saying that I was in a bad way or unfit before the illness, though I will admit that my diet could have been better.
I was proud of the fact that I ate out most nights of the week, and that the only meal I really had at home was breakfast. I very rarely ate what you would call junk or food, with the closest coming to it being Subway. Most of them were meals at any one of the local restaurants.
I was exercising on a more of a here and there frequency than only a regular basis.
Now, I am not saying that my less than perfect diet had anything to do with me getting sick as I don’t think it did. I’d been burning the candle at both ends, trying to do too much with the limited time that I had. And as is usually the case with most people, when you are time poor, the first thing that gets neglected is yourself.
This is how I let myself get run down enough to get hit by this bug.
While I was bedridden with the man flu, and the Do Not Disturb sign nailed firmly to the door in the unlikely event that the Grim Reaper found me and came-a-knocking, I decided that I would start paying more attention to what my body is after.
